After the first phase reserved for Wildpass holders is over, anyone will be able to claim Wildfiles. However, the contract will still enforce a limit of one Wildfile per wallet. Wildpass holders who have not yet claimed their Wildfiles can continue to claim Wildfiles with reserved numbers as explained earlier.
They can still claim Wildfiles during the public launch. So, the earlier that non-holders claim Wildfiles during the public phase, the lower the number they will get starting at 4,445.
When a Wildpass is purchased by a new user, the same Wildpass can be used to claim a new Wildfile as long as it is transferred to a wallet that is not already connected to a Wildfile.
The Wildfile has an unlimited supply, and will be freely available to anyone who wants to claim one. The Wildfile will remain tied to your wallet and Discord ID so that you can begin recording your contributions and activity in the Wildcard community.
The Wildfile number associated with all claims connected with a Wildpass after that Wildpass’ first claim will be greater than 4,444 and will be given the next available chronological ‘unreserved’ Wildfile number not yet claimed from 4,445 on up.
Advanced users can check whether a Wildpass with a certain token ID has been used to claim a Wildfile or not by checking the mapping(uint256 => bool) public wildpassUsed; storage mapping on the Wildfile contract. This can be done through your method of choice (onchain, client library like ethers.js or viem, etc.). The easiest method is probably Polygonscan, which provides a convenient contract read tab to access this property available here.
If you have multiple Wildpasses in your wallet when claiming your Wildfile, the app will automatically connect to the Wildpass with the lowest number in your wallet to claim your Wildfile (for those of you who want more control over which Wildpass you use to claim your Wildfile, you can call the smart contract directly using whichever Wildpass token ID you choose!).
Once a Wildpass is used to claim a Wildfile, it can be used again to mint a Wildfile but it won’t get a low Wildfile number (<4,444). Because the Wildfile is meant to be the unique record of a users’ activity in the Wildcard universe, it is not recommended that users claim multiple Wildfiles to track their Wildcard activity.
The Wildfile is a soulbound NFT that records (and ultimately rewards) your participation in the Wildcard universe. Your Wildfile is your own unique permanent record of Your Life in the Wildcard Universe, stored on the blockchain. As a soulbound NFT, your Wildfile is your identity in Wildcard and is not meant to be traded or transferred between different users.
During the initial early access phase, Wildpass holders will be able to claim their Wildfile by connecting the wallet holding their Wildpass to the Wildfile smart contract. Holders will receive the lowest available Wildfile number between #1-4,444 on a first come, first serve basis. Those who claim their Wildfile early will claim the Wildfiles with the lowest numbers.
Wildfiles can be claimed for free on the Wildcard Discord server – we even pay the gas.
Your Wildfile is a living record of your legacy in the Wildcard universe. In this early iteration, you can show off your Wildcard collectibles and track attendance for community events.
Yes, users with multiple Wildpasses can claim multiple Wildfiles as long as each Wildpass is in a unique wallet. They can connect each unique wallet, holding a unique Wildpass, to the Wildfile smart contract and claim a unique Wildfile if they choose. As we noted earlier, the Wildfile is meant to be the unique record of a users’ activity in the Wildcard universe, it is not recommended that users claim multiple Wildfiles to track their Wildcard activity.
Leaderboards are the next major feature of the Wildcard Web3 protocol. They are a simple but powerful way to recognize and reward participation in the Wildcard ecosystem. Leaderboards leverage Wildcard's on-chain records of activity, participation, gameplay, and ownership to rank your progress and reward your efforts and contributions. To view the current leaderboards, join our Discord to mint your Wildfile, and then click on the Leaderboards tab at the top of the Wildfile.
Wildcard protects your privacy by default. If you wish to share your Discord username on the Leaderboard, log in to your Wildfile, click the settings/gear icon at the top right, and enable “Share Linked Socials”. Then your username will show up!
Wildevents are a permanent, on-chain record of your activity, engagement, and participation in Wildcard. Since the Wildfile launched in August 2023, we've recorded hundreds of thousands of Wildevents, whenever Wildcard users join playtests, tune in to events, and participate in the community. Leaderboards tie into these Wildevents, as well as other on-chain data, to track and rank your progress and achievements throughout the Wildcard ecosystem.
We are launching with a single leaderboard initially, called Alpha Series One. The ranking system for this leaderboard is currently based on event participation plus a new feature called kudos. Pretty soon, we’ll also add badges (more about those further down!)
Users receive a base amount of points for attending an event, with additional points per category based on the type of event. Additional points are also awarded based on the duration of attendance. Leaderboards will be updated every 24 hours so you can keep track of your ranking daily! Since we’re testing this feature, we expect the points system to change and evolve over time. Whenever we change the points and/or scoring calculations, we will update the public documentation so you can see exactly what has changed. We will also strive to never remove or reduce points that have already been awarded for previous activity.
You wish! Ha, just kidding. Each leaderboard will be active for a finite period of time. The Alpha Series One Leaderboard will be active for a limited time. We will be sure to give you a heads up 1-2 weeks before before a leaderboard ends. We will also archive each leaderboard for posterity when it is deactivated. In addition, whenever a particular leaderboard ends and rewards are distributed, your final ranking on that leaderboard will also be permanently recorded as its own unique Wildevent. In this way, your progress and participation in all Wildcard leaderboards now and in the future are permanently recorded on-chain, as part of your Wildfile. This will be an important factor in how future rewards and airdrops are distributed!
For the Alpha Series One Leaderboard, event categories include:
This is a new feature that allows the Wildcard Community team to acknowledge Community members who actively participate in and positively contribute to the Wildcard community. The points received from kudos contribute to a user's position on the leaderboard. Kudos are distributed on our Discord server, so join today and become an active contributor!
Your Wildfile badges highlight your status and achievements in the Wildcard ecosystem. From dynamic status badges to permanent achievement badges, each contributes to your unique Wildcard legacy -- and will even empower you with Leaderboard bonuses in the future!
Leaderboards are one of the most important ways that your activity, engagement, and contributions are publicly recognized and rewarded within the Wildcard ecosystem, now and in the future. We are currently working on new features, assets, and airdrops that are specifically designed to reward users who rank on leaderboards. The value of these rewards will be proportional to your ranking on each leaderboard, with the top positions receiving specific one-of-a-kind rewards. Achieving multiple top-ranked positions on concurrent leaderboards will lead to even greater rewards over time. Participating in a leaderboard, even if you don’t rank at the top, will still benefit your overall record, and may include a chance (lottery) to receive additional airdropped rewards.
The first set of rewards for the initial Alpha Series One leaderboard will be unveiled in the coming weeks. Please stay tuned!
Wildfile Leaderboards provide a structured and flexible system to recognize, reward, and engage users within the Wildcard ecosystem. The design aims to be user-friendly, efficient, and adaptable as we continue to build and iterate on the Wildcard ecosystem! Let us know how we’re doing once you start playing with the feature!
The Showcase tab is a new addition to The Wildfile, dedicated to displaying the Swag that users have collected. Swag is organized into sets, which can be completed by collecting each individual piece in a set.
Think of collecting Swag as a side quest. For now, the more you collect, the more bragging rights you have! Over time, this Showcase feature will evolve to include even more types of collectibles (or what we call Wildcard "Digital Merchandise"), and include additional recognition for collectors, and even rewards for the best collectors in the Wildcard community! Soon, we plan to launch Collectible Challenges which will be special events with specific collecting requirements. Successful completion of these challenges can result in rewards and achievements for users.
To complete a set, you’ll need to collect all the Swag items within that set. You can check which Swag items you’re missing from each set, and then show up for Wildcard community events and gatherings for your opportunity to earn new collectibles! Of course, because Swag is stored on the blockchain, you can also freely trade with friends, and even find Swag by browsing digital marketplaces such as Magic Eden.
Wildevents are recorded on-chain events that apply to all kinds of activities in the Wildcard ecosystem. With Swag sets, a Wildevent will be recorded when you complete an entire set. Wildevents are permanent records of everything you’ve accomplished in the Wildcard universe, and one of the most important features of the continuously evolving Wildcard Web3 protocol.
Specific rewards will vary based on the set and related collecting challenges. Owning completed sets of Swag increases your chances of rewards - you may become eligible to win things like a Wildpass, a Steam or Twitch gift card, a VIP pass to a gaming conference, and maybe even an in-person lunch with our co-founders, Paul and Katy! We have plans for complete sets to lead to other ways for you to be recognized, and for these acknowledgments to be displayed (showcased!) to add pizzazz to your Wildfile and Wildcard identity. To get started, visit the Showcase tab here.
The ability to show off collections and rankings to others, both locally and globally, is being considered for future developments. For now, visit the #show-off channel in Discord where other friends from the Wildcard Community post screenshots of their collections.
The PFP Avatar feature allows holders of Wildfile NFT to customize their main avatar image by choosing from the PFPs they own. This means you can display your favorite PFP as your Wildfile’s avatar.
To change your PFP avatar, simply click the "customize Wildfile" button located in the bottom right corner of the main Wildfile page. This action will present you with a carousel containing all the PFPs you own from currently available/supported projects. You can select the one you want to use as your avatar and then save your selection.
When you select a new PFP avatar, it emits a Wildevent on the blockchain, updating your avatar image and recording the new PFP you’ve selected for your Wildfile.
Wildfile only retrieves NFTs from a list of approved projects. A list of these approved projects with their contract addresses can be found here: Available Avatar Collections
To maintain quality and security, you can use PFPs from a list of approved projects which can be seen here.
We evaluate each PFP collection based on project trust, legitimacy, and longevity in the space, and technical ability to incorporate it into the Wildfile system. As our first release, we chose a small selection of the most popular collections among current Wildpass holders. We will continue to add new PFP collections with subsequent releases.
We always welcome suggestions and feedback on all aspects of the Wildfile, join us in our Discord server at https://discord.gg/playwildcard and visit the #wildfile-feedback forum to submit your suggestions!
In this release, Avatars are limited to owned PFPs from approved projects that are in any of your linked Wildfile wallets.
The additional wallet linking feature allows holders of a Wildfile NFT to link multiple wallets to their NFT. This feature enables users to store their assets in various wallet configurations and allows Wildcard to display data from all linked wallets.
Linking additional wallets means that data will now be pulled from multiple wallets instead of just one, enhancing the versatility of your Wildfile. For now, you’ll be able to display assets from multiple wallets at once. Over time, the versatility enabled by this feature will expand and evolve.
Yes, this feature publicly reveals the linked wallets. Users will be informed of this when linking their wallets, and when they sign a message during the linking process, the message will include a statement indicating they understand they are publishing a public event on-chain that links their wallets.
The linking process involves a few steps:
You can link up to 5 wallets to your Wildfile. Each wallet can only be linked to one Wildfile to maintain uniqueness in your Wildfile identity.
Currently, wallets can only be linked through Wildcard's servers. Users cannot directly link wallets on the blockchain. In the future, blockchain linking may be available - stay tuned for updates.
